Hours: 80 Hours per 2-Week Pay Period
Pay: $30.00 – $44.00/hour (Based on years of experience – Union position; pay is non-negotiable)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to perform clinical laboratory testing that supports physicians in the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of disease. The ideal candidate will perform accurate laboratory testing while maintaining quality standards, ensuring timely reporting of results, and contributing to exceptional patient care in a collaborative hospital laboratory environment.


Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and specialized clinical laboratory testing in accordance with established laboratory procedures.
  • Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory analyzers and equipment.
  • Analyze and verify laboratory test results while ensuring accuracy and quality control standards.
  • Collect, process, and prepare patient specimens for laboratory testing.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and laboratory records using Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Hospital Information Systems (HIS).
  • Follow laboratory safety protocols, infection prevention guidelines, and regulatory standards including CLIA, CAP, and Joint Commission requirements.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to provide timely and reliable laboratory results.


Qualifications

  • Associate of Science Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science (or equivalent as required by CLIA regulations).
  • Must meet current CLIA-88, CAP, Joint Commission, and Oregon Department of Human Services requirements for Clinical Laboratory Personnel.
  • Working knowledge of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), Hospital Information Systems (HIS), automated analyzers, centrifuges, pipettors, microscopes, and laboratory instrumentation.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Oregon state licensure (or eligibility) as required.
