Portland Community College is accepting applications to be considered for Part-Time Faculty assignments in the Medical Laboratory Technology Department at the Cascade Campus. The Department will review applications in this pool as the need arises for new part-time faculty in this area.
This is NOT an announcement of a specific open position, but a Part-time Faculty Interest Pool, from which the department will identify applicants based on course assignment needs during the Academic Year. Your application may be considered for substitute assignments as well as full term class assignments.

Instructor Qualifications
PLEASE NOTE - a copy of your ASCP certification (or proof of certification) and an unofficial transcript will be required as part of the application process. Please upload both documents in the attachments section of your application.
Instructor qualifications for all Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) courses:
- Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a Bachelor's degree in related science
discipline, AND - MLT (ASCP) or MLS (ASCP) certification or equivalent, AND
- Two (2) years of experience working in a clinical laboratory setting performing testing or in a post secondary education program
Per the MLT Program's accrediting body (NAACLS), MLT faculty serving in the role of program director must also meet the additional qualifications listed below:
- A master's or doctoral degree, AND
- ASCP-BOC or ASCPi-BOC generalist certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical
Technologist, AND - Knowledge of education methods and administration as well as current NAACLS accreditation
procedures and certification procedures, AND - Three (3) years of teaching experience
