Job description

RESEARCH DATA SPECIALIST – DATA MANAGEMENT & BIOINFORMATICS TEAM, Biology, to join the BioMicro Center that provides data management for several major, interinstitutional projects ranging from cancer research to infectious disease to environmental remediation. In each project, the Center serves as a host and integrator of large, multidimensional datasets with the goal of improving findability, accessibility, interoperability and reusability of data to enable improved reproducibility and increase discovery using machine learning based approaches. Will focus on providing administrative and analytic support for building and maintaining a novel data management platform supporting a broad spectrum of biological and clinical methodologies; be responsible for handling critical research data; and will be expected to interact with a broad variety of MIT and non-MIT research scientists The position involves coordinating multiple research groups across and outside of MIT; and developing new systems and processes for data collection as needed; developing & maintaining databases; and providing researcher training.
