Business Development Manager – Aggregate and Mining

The Industry Manager – Aggregate and Mining is responsible for driving sustainable growth and increasing market share within the aggregate and mining industries, with a strong focus on major OEMs and associated applications. This role leads new business development efforts, coordinates cross‑functional resources, and ensures a consistent commercial strategy aligned with WEG’s product portfolio and long‑term objectives.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Business Development & Sales Leadership
    • Generate sales leads, develop qualified sales opportunities, and lead the closure of new business within the aggregate and mining segments.
    • Develop, manage, and maintain a structured opportunity pipeline, working collaboratively with non direct reports to win OEM business.
    • Perform contract analysis and lead commercial negotiations to support profitable and sustainable growth.
  • Cross Functional Collaboration
    • Coordinate with WEG Area Managers, Territory Account Managers, and Application Engineers to identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities.
    • Assist WEG Sales Area Managers in managing aggregate and mining OEM accounts, ensuring alignment and consistency in commercial strategy across regions.
    • Align internal technical, commercial, and operational teams around customer needs and growth objectives.
  • Market & Industry Engagement
    • Identify, analyze, and understand industry trends, competitive dynamics, and evolving product requirements within the aggregate and mining industries.
    • Actively participate in relevant aggregate and mining industry associations, trade shows, and technical events to
      • Develop and strengthen relationships with key OEMs
      • Gain insights into market trends and customer challenges
      • Effectively position WEG solutions to increase market share
  • Work closely with Product Management to develop and refine an industry specific product portfolio tailored to aggregate and mining applications.
  • Support the creation of marketing and promotional materials that clearly communicate WEG’s value proposition to aggregate and mining OEM customers.
  • Reporting & Business Reviews
    • Develop reports and perform analyses on customer purchasing behavior, opportunity pipelines, and market trends.
    • Conduct continuous business reviews with assigned OEM customers, identifying growth opportunities, risks, and action plans.
    • Communicate business review outcomes, performance metrics, and action plans to key internal stakeholders.
  • Travel
    • Conduct domestic and international travel as needed to strengthen customer relationships, attend meetings, and support new business developments.
  • Deep knowledge of Motor products and applications.
  • Demonstrates breadth and depth of knowledge of customer and industry needs.
  • Strong understanding of industry trends, market forces, and customer expectations.
  • Strong knowledge of the most current technologies and products used in the industry.
  • Knowledge of competitor products and go to market strategies.
  • Market research tools.

Experience
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience is required.
