A Mini job is a form of marginal employment in countries like Germany, where earnings are capped at a certain threshold (e.g., €538 per month in 2024) to provide tax and social security benefits. Mini job workers are typically exempt from income tax and only contribute minimally to social security, making it an attractive option for students, retirees, and part-time workers. These jobs are common in retail, hospitality, and domestic work.

What are 'Mini' jobs?

'Mini' is not a standard job title and may refer to a variety of roles depending on the context. In some cases, 'Mini job' is used in countries like Germany to describe low-wage, part-time positions with limited working hours and reduced social security contributions. These roles are often used by students, retirees, or people seeking supplementary income. Mini jobs typically have a monthly earning limit and do not offer full benefits compared to regular employment. It's important to clarify the context or industry to understand the specific responsibilities of a 'Mini' job.
