Job description

JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for maintaining high standard presentation in the Mini Bar Department. Associate must be detail oriented and great intrapersonal and guest relation skills.
Physical abilities:
  • Standing/Walking: Constantly. Walking every floor and into every room daily to ensure mini bar pars are met and to take counts of product to charge guests accordingly.
  • Handling: Frequently. Phone, papers, files, pen, pencils, keyboards, inventory, sharp objects i.e. wine openers and bottle openers, keys and key cards
  • Crouching: Frequently. to restock storage room, mini bar cart and guest rooms
  • Grasping: Occasionally. Heavy boxes of inventory, opening doors, individual inventory and mini bar cart.
  • Talking/Hearing in person: Constantly: guests, associates, and community. Communicating to management of any discrepancies in product, inventory or guest relations during the course of a shift.
  • Talking/Hearing on telephone: Constantly. Guests, associates and management.
  • Near vision: Frequently. Corrected to 20/40, personal contact, paperwork, monitors, and displays
  • Finger dexterity- Frequently. Writing, using the key pads of phones, computer mouse, key cards, keys, ability to stock and restock items in a specific enclosed space such as a mini bar fridge in a guest room.

Working Environment:
  • All interior areas of the hotel, guest rooms including the storage room and service elevators.
  • Exterior of hotel with exposure to weather conditions.
  • Exposure to food items, beverages, on occasion chemicals, loud noises and offensive smells from trash compactor on street level near the employee entrance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & Responsibilities:
  • Stock and replace missing items, inspect, move and clean the mini-bars in accordance with departmental procedures and policies.
  • Complete opening and closing checklists before leaving
  • Meet Forbes standard and procedure and pass service audits
  • Display working knowledge of all menu items and prices.
  • Maintain, organize, and clean assigned storerooms daily.
  • Ensure products in Mini-Bar are not expired and take the proper procedure to remove those products as necessary.
  • Notify management of expired product to have it replaced.
  • Ensure rotation of all Mini-Bar products..
  • Properly complete, maintain and track inventory in assigned storerooms.
  • Obtain stock from assigned storerooms.
  • Maintain and complete assigned floors and rooms requesting Mini-Bar service.
  • Maintain the highest level of customer service and display professionalism at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with Mini-Bar Vending Supervisor any issues and / or concerns.
  • Follows all required safety and standard operating procedures.
  • Adheres to all company and regulatory policies. Reports any wrongdoing to management immediately.
  • Works weekends and holidays.
  • Maintain accurate knowledge of inventories and par on a daily basis.
  • Check carts for proper inventory and restock to standard when needed.
  • Ensure that mini bar cleanliness and working order adhere to four diamond standards.
  • Post charges to account via telephone and through an internet based computer program.
  • Replenish consumed items to standard and confirm against par list.
  • Ensure that all Do Not Disturbs are checked again before departure; pull the room refill list to show times.
  • Ensure that all work orders are completed daily and logged on the daily checklist for follow up.
  • Must be knowledgeable of service standards, guest acknowledgement, safety and emergency procedures.
  • Any other duties assigned by immediate supervisor
  • Pick up trays from guest rooms and hall ways (if needed) and set in proper location.

Qualifications:
  • Ability to attend mandatory meetings
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Must be able to push 35 lbs., lift 50 lbs. from floor and bend at the knee to check mini bars.
  • Occasionally walk up and down stairs throughout the day.
  • Must possess a normal range of finger dexterity for use in confined spaces of a mini bar refrigerator, telephones and computer.
  • Must be able to write and speak conversational English.
  • Must be able to work a varied schedule which includes working weekends and holidays.
  • Previous hotel experience preferred.
  • TABC certified
