Job description

nLogic is seeking a Senior Sustainment Systems Engineer to support a mission-focused effort in the Colorado Springs area.
In this role, you will provide seniorlevel systems engineering support to sustain and advance MILSATCOM and NC3 capabilities for the Space Systems Command Program Management Office at Peterson Space Force Base. You'll engage directly with government and industry partners to resolve technical challenges, maintain system readiness, and guide the evolution of legacy and transitioning spacebased communication systems. Leveraging established SEIT processes, you will help manage technical baselines, develop and analyze engineering documentation, and drive missionfocused solutions that enhance operational performance and directly support Joint and Allied warfighter needs worldwide.
The MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (MSEIT) effort provides leading edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) for the Space Force's Space Systems Command. We support the Space Force's acquisition of state-of-the-art Military Satellite Communications systems, providing global secure protected communications for our nation's warfighters. We seek technical individuals who will thrive in a highly collaborative work environment of small teams, using the most modern tools and methodologies to tackle the challenges of integrating complex space and ground communications systems.
Responsibilities:
  • Engage government and corporate stakeholders to achieve missionfocused, highimpact results
  • Provide seniorlevel critical thinking and problemsolving support to the government customer, driving technical challenges to clear, logical resolutions
  • Coordinate across diverse DoW agencies, commercial partners, and internal teams to ensure positive, missionaligned outcomes
  • Learn, apply, and help enforce established government SEIT processes and procedures in support of MILSATCOM and NC3 Operations & Sustainment (O&S) activities
  • Develop, analyze, and maintain systems engineering documentation, requirements, and capability artifacts to support continuous readiness and alignment with mission objectives
  • Manage and maintain technical baselines for legacy and transitioning spacebased telecommunications systems using proven SEIT methodologies
  • Apply Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) frameworks and DoW acquisition best practices to daily program operations, advancing strategic and tactical MILSATCOM capabilities
  • Serve as a proactive, selfdirected engineer capable of autonomous learning and growth in a collaborative smallteam environment
  • Tackle technical challenges and help drive executable, fieldready solutions for both legacy and evolving systems
  • Support the Sustainment Integrated Product Team (IPT) to enhance Joint and Allied combat readiness across MILSATCOM and NC3 systems, terminals, and software applications
  • Travel up to 20% to CONUS and OCONUS locations as directed by the government customer

Required Qualifications:
  • Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship is mandatory). A clearance active within the last 24 months is considered current.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science or equivalent technical discipline from an accredited university
  • 5 years experience in SE&I associated with system acquisitions and/or O&S
  • Expertise with requirements development and analysis and the development of systems engineering-related documents
  • Knowledge of Agile software development processes and applications (i.e., Jira/Confluence)
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective interpersonal and team-player skills
  • Clear and concise written, verbal communications and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of experience in a DoW program office with an understanding of DoW acquisition processes
  • 6+ years of experience working with strategic & tactical MILSATCOM space systems
  • Experience working in a CMMI environment
  • Possess knowledge of Agile software development processes and applications (e.g., Jira/Confluence)
  • Direct experience with Change Management and Configuration Management (CM) processes
  • Possess Project Management Institute (PMI) Program Management Professional (PMP) certification.

  • Compensation: The anticipated salary range for this position is $110,000 to $161,000
