Position Overview 

This Operations Support - Technical Advisor will provide Level 2 support to Level 1 Support Desk personnel and In-Room Technical Advisor (TA) staff. This task is primarily performed at Schriever Space Force Base (SSFB).
 
Primary Responsibilities 


Provide organizational and intermediate level support to operations of CCS-C systems in all facilities at SSFB and Vandenberg Space Force Base (VSFB) at the Backup Satellite Operations Center - Vandenberg (BSOC-V). This position requires a Security Plus certification to maintain a privileged account on the system. In some cases, the need to perform troubleshooting to restore operational capabilities may require working outside of normal business hours including weekends.

  • Mission Problem Report (MPR) and Deficiency Report (DR) resolution 
  • System administrator support
  • Draft MILSATCOM Operational Requests (MORs)
  • Installation support including maintaining critical spares and bench stock
  • Performing Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMIs)
  • Removing and replacing faulty equipment
  • Restoring systems to operations within contractually mandated timelines
  • Maintaining organizational maintenance procedures
  • User account management (new and existing accounts)
  • File transfers as required by users
  • Classified courier support
  • Log and data collection to support Kratos engineering
  • Support all Kratos operations meetings
  • Support user meetings as required 

EducationBachelor's Degree in IT related is desired, but not required.  

ExperienceAt least 3 years of relevant experience is required. 

Clearance Requirement: Secret, with ability to obtain Top Secret

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience supporting MILSATCOM or DoD operations
  • Experience with MPR/DR processes and system issue tracking
  • Basic system administration (Windows/Linux), including user account management
  • Knowledge of MILSATCOM operations and drafting Operational Requests (MORs)
  • Hands-on maintenance experience (PMIs, hardware replacement, system restoration)
  • Familiarity with classified environments and secure data/file transfers
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in time-sensitive, mission-critical settings
  • Ability to manage maintenance procedures, spares, and bench stock
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic documentation practices
