Pay: $41.58/hour
Schedule: 1st Shift (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM)
 

Aramark is seeking a Journeyman Millwright to support operations at the General Motors Global Technical Center, a large, historic campus listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This is a non-manufacturing environment focused on facility maintenance and reliability.

In this role, you will perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs across mechanical systems and building infrastructure, helping ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operations.

This position requires an active Journeyperson license or card. Candidates without proper certification will not be considered. Requirements are listed below.

UAW JOURNEYPERSON REQUIREMENTS:

1.            Department of Labor Certificate of Completion of a Bonafide 4 year/8000 hour apprenticeship program.

2.            If not, must have 8 years of verifiable experience.

If the 8 years is from a UAW facility, you must have a letter from the facility on company letterhead stating the dates of service and classification/s of the work performed during the years you are submitting as your experience. This letter must then be signed by a company representative with their name and title printed and it must also be signed by the local union bargaining chair or steward at the facility with their name and title printed.

If the 8 years experience is not at the UAW facility, the additional years of verifiable experience must be on company letterhead, signed by the company representative and then taken to be notarized.

Job Responsibilities

   Perform inspection, maintenance, and repair of overhead doors, dock levelers, dock locks, and truck restraints
   Maintain and repair Air Handling Units (AHUs), make-up air units, and overhead heaters
   Perform belt replacement, sheave alignment, and related mechanical work
   Diagnose mechanical failures and perform corrective repairs
   Execute preventive and predictive maintenance activities
   Perform welding and fabrication using cutting torch, grinders, etc.
   Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
   Conduct routine facility inspections and identify maintenance needs
   Document work performed and provide equipment condition feedback
   Support continuous improvement efforts to reduce downtime
   Follow all safety policies including LOTO and PPE requirements
   Communicate effectively with team members and leadership

Qualifications

   Journeyman Millwright certification or 8+ years equivalent experience
   Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
   Experience with overhead doors, dock equipment, and HVAC systems
   Welding and fabrication experience required
   Ability to disassemble and repair complex systems
   Experience with preventive maintenance programs
   Ability to operate aerial lifts and work at heights
   Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
   Strong written and verbal communication skills
   Capable of performing physically demanding work
   Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and climbing required
   Required use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
   Industrial or large-scale commercial facility maintenance
   Experience working in union environments
