Overview
Military Hardware Testing Operator
LOCATION: Huntsville, Al.
JOB STATUS: Full-time
CLEARANCE: Secret
TRAVEL: As Needed
Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Military Hardware Testing Operator located at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Al. Astrion has worked extensively with the Missile Sensor Test Division where it has earned a reputation for on-time delivery of high-quality products tailored to the needs of its clients.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
  • Must have 7 years of applicable experience supporting engineering, design, or testing of hardware in the appropriate area of specialization; or 3 years of applicable college/vocational/military/technical school and 4 years of applicable experience in the assigned specialty area; and the following additional requirements:
  • At least 6 years of the 7 years' experience must include successful completion of vocational/military/technical school training in practical or industrial arts and a minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical fabrication and structural/fixture setup supporting engineering or testing of military hardware.
  • Will need to have experience operating military equipment.
  • Technician will operate machinery to include - Class VII and below forklifts, drive tanks, operate earth moving equipment, hold or obtain Class A CDL w/hazmat endorsement.
  • Familiar with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Thorough, detail oriented, and organized, with excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects at once.
  • New hire will be capable of operating heavy equipment.
  • Able to lift 75 pounds.
  • Self-motivated and independent thinker with out-of-the-box ideas.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • Must have high school diploma or GED.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
  • Military munitions and arms experience.
  • Have experience initiating safe plans of actions.
  • Able to lead, participate, or provide input to a team of technicians.
  • Experience working with engineers and senior management required.
  • Exceptional customer relationship management is highly desirable.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Willing to work in adverse weather conditions.
  • Welding and/or mechanical skills will be utilized daily.
  • This individual must be able to read, understand and adhere to all applicable SOP's and TSRA's.
  • Some travel may be required
