Job description

Are you ready to take the next step in your structural engineering career? KL Engineering is looking for a talented and motivated Structural Engineer to join our team and contribute to impactful infrastructure projects. This is your opportunity to work on a wide range of structural assignments—from trail boardwalks to interstate bridges—while growing your technical expertise and leadership skills in a collaborative and flexible work environment.

What You’ll Do:
  • Design & Deliver: Prepare structural designs, plans, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates for a variety of public and private sector projects.
  • Analyze & Evaluate: Assist in developing bridge rehabilitation and replacement concepts, including alternatives and evaluations.
  • Collaborate & Communicate: Work within a multidisciplinary team and support project reporting, client communication, and quality control efforts.
  • Mentor & Lead: Provide guidance to engineers and technicians, manage workflow, and contribute to team development.
  • Learn & Grow: Stay current with structural design standards and procedures while expanding your project and team management capabilities.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering (structural emphasis preferred).
  • Experience: 5–10 years of structural engineering experience.
  • Certification: Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Skills: Proficiency in structural design and analysis software, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and MS Office Suite. Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Mindset: Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience Areas: Reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, steel, and wood structures. WisDOT experience is a plus.
