Senior/Mid-Level Software Engineer (C/Linux Modernization) Position Overview We are seeking experienced Software Engineers to support a critical modernization effort for a mission-focused maintenance application supporting defense operations. The ideal candidate will have strong C++ development experience, a background working with legacy applications, and the ability to independently analyze and modernize complex software systems with limited documentation. Responsibilities
- Enhance and modernize large legacy C+ applications.
- Migrate software from Solaris 32-bit environments to modern Linux/RHEL 64-bit platforms.
- Analyze and maintain existing codebases with limited documentation.
- Develop and maintain Oracle database integrations.
- Create and enhance SQL queries, stored procedures, and business logic.
- Perform unit testing using Google Test and adhere to software development standards.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, PI planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, and product stakeholders to deliver modernization objectives.
- Support integration efforts involving REST APIs and modern application interfaces. Required Qualifications
Active Secret Security Clearance
5+ years (Mid-Level) or 8+ years (Senior-Level) software development experience.
Strong C++ programming experience.
Experience developing on Linux or Unix platforms.
Experience working with legacy applications and modernization projects.
Oracle database development experience.
Strong SQL and stored procedure experience.
Experience with object-oriented design principles.
Experience in Agile software development environments. Preferred Qualifications
Java development experience.
C# development experience.
REST API development experience.
OpenAPI familiarity.
Experience supporting Department of Defense programs.
Experience reverse engineering systems with limited documentation.
