Job description

The Mid-Level Giving Officer is a front-line fundraiser on the New York Public Radio Mid-Level Giving team. This is a team in growth mode, as NYPR expands its funding base with donors giving $1K to $25K. The Mid-Level Giving Officer will report to the Director of Mid-Level Giving and will work in partnership with the Philanthropy team and other staff to build and maintain relationships with donors and prospects who are capable of making annual gifts of $1K-$25K.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create and execute fundraising and stewardship strategies for a tiered portfolio of at least 400 individual donors making annual gifts of $1K-$25K, with an emphasis on identifying and qualifying high potential prospects from our pool of $1K-$5K donors. This Officer will help develop long- and short-term plans to meet assigned revenue goals for general operating, special project and campaign funding priorities.

  • Track and document moves management for mid-level donors and prospects within their portfolio, with the goal of increased and new giving.

  • Plan and implement donor touch points, including one-on-one meetings, station tours, luncheons, dinners, recitals, panel discussions, and small cultivation and stewardship events.

  • Collaborate with the Director of Mid-Level Giving and colleagues across Development, Membership, and Programming to create effective donor communications and engagement strategies.

  • Assist in the development of research strategies and targeted areas for research, working closely with the mid-level giving team and prospect research.

  • Contribute and partner on stewardship initiatives and assist with innovative approaches to strengthen donor loyalty and affinity to NYPR.

  • Establish strong relationships and lines of communication with program staff, working together to create accurate and informative messaging, increased donor awareness of key initiatives and engaging donor cultivation events.

Job requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • At least 2 years of front-line fundraising experience, with demonstrated success managing a donor portfolio and securing gifts of $5,000 and above

  • Strong knowledge of donor cultivation and stewardship best practices; experience with mid-level or major gifts preferred.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage donors, staff and volunteers effectively.

  • Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and sustain relationships across diverse communities and backgrounds.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and fundraising databases (Salesforce experience a plus)

  • Passion for public radio and NYPR's mission

Additional Information
This is a full-time role with an annual salary range of $82,500 to $90,000. Salary offered within this range is determined by skills, experience and organizational pay equity. New York Public Radio offers comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, along with vacation time, personal days, sick time and parental leave.
This individual is expected to work onsite at NYPR's New York City office at least 2 days a week.
