Position: Software Engineer (Mid-Level and Senior)

Salary: $120,000 - $155,000 annually.
The successful candidate's starting base will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the base range for this role.

Job Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Develop and maintain Windows-based application programs within scheduled timelines.
  • Design and implement user-friendly graphical user interfaces (GUIs).
  • Create testing programs for calibration and production.
  • Document specifications and assist in developing user guides and manuals.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to deliver reliable, user-focused applications.
  • Work independently on assigned projects, demonstrating strong self-motivation and accountability.

Senior-level engineers will additionally be expected to:
  • Lead application development efforts with minimal guidance.
  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior team members.

Minimum Qualifications (Mid-Level Software Engineer)
  • 3+ years of professional, hands-on Windows development experience (C# / .NET, C++).
  • Experience developing WinForms and/or WPF/XAML applications; familiarity with MVVM design patterns.
  • Ability to design intuitive and efficient Windows GUIs.
  • Working knowledge of database development (e.g., SQL Server, SQLite).
  • Familiarity with software testing techniques and tools (Unit Testing, Black Box Testing).
  • Experience with source control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
  • Exposure to communications and command-and-control technologies (Ethernet, RS232/RS485, USB, CAN).
  • Solid understanding of core software development methodologies (Object-Oriented Programming, Agile Development, common design patterns).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Minimum Qualifications (Senior Software Engineer)
Includes all Mid-Level qualifications plus:
  • 5+ years of professional, hands-on Windows development experience (C# / .NET, C++).
  • 5+ years of significant experience with WinForms and WPF/XAML, including MVVM.
  • Proven ability to build test, calibration, and automation programs for prototypes and manufacturing.
  • Significant experience with communications and command-and-control technologies (Ethernet, RS232/RS485, USB, CAN).
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead application development from inception to completion.
  • Ability to convey technical information clearly and confidently to diverse audiences.
  • A strong results-driven mindset with a hands-on approach.
Preferred Qualifications (Both Levels)
  • MS or Ph.D. in Science, Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Experience developing software for test, measurement, or automation systems involving hardware interface and control.
  • Proficiency in web and HTML-based technologies (JavaScript, Angular 2, Node.js, REST API).
  • Expertise in embedded development (RTOS and non-RTOS).
  • Familiarity with FDA/GMP standards and compliance processes.
  • Experience with NI LabVIEW.
  • Coursework or project experience in AI and machine learning.
  • Proficiency with Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar tools.
  • Contributions to AI-related research, publications, or impactful projects.
