The Senior Cloud Security Consultant is responsible for designing, implementing, and advising customers on secure Microsoft cloud solutions, with a primary focus on Azure security architecture and Microsoft security technologies. This customer-facing role partners with organizations to strengthen their security posture by delivering strategic guidance, technical expertise, and secure cloud solutions that align with business objectives.

Working closely with customers and internal teams, the Senior Cloud Security Consultant serves as a trusted technical advisor throughout pre-sales and delivery engagements. This role collaborates with clients to assess security needs, architect secure cloud solutions, and support the successful adoption, modernization, and optimization of Microsoft cloud technologies while delivering exceptional customer outcomes.

Essential Functions
•    Design, assess, and implement secure Microsoft cloud solutions, with a primary focus on Azure security architecture and Microsoft security services.
•    Lead customer-facing workshops, architecture discussions, technical discovery sessions, and implementation planning activities.
•    Evaluate cybersecurity challenges and determine how Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 security services can be used to address customer requirements.
•    Provide pre-sales engineering support, including solution design, technical scoping, and support for Statements of Work.
•    Architect and support Microsoft security solutions including Microsoft Entra, Microsoft Defender XDR, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft Purview.
•    Maintain current knowledge of Microsoft cloud security technologies, cybersecurity threats, and industry best practices.
•    Provide technical leadership and mentorship during delivery engagements, including architecture reviews, implementation guidance, and customer handoff.

•    Build trusted advisor relationships with customers through technical expertise and exceptional service.
•    Deliver secure, high-quality Microsoft cloud security solutions that meet customer requirements.
•    Successfully lead customer engagements from technical discovery through implementation and handoff.
•    Collaborate effectively with internal teams to support successful project delivery and business development.
•    Maintain expertise in Microsoft cloud security technologies and industry best practices.
Qualifications

Required: 

•    Five or more years of hands-on Azure experience in cloud security engineering, architecture, consulting, or a related field. 
•    Experience leading customer-facing technical discussions with senior technical decision-makers. 
•    Experience developing technical documentation, architecture diagrams, implementation plans, and customer recommendations. 
•    Strong understanding of Azure security architecture, including identity, networking, governance, logging, monitoring, and workload protection. 
•    Proficiency with Microsoft Defender XDR, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, and Microsoft Sentinel. 
•    Strong understanding of Microsoft Entra, including Conditional Access, Privileged Identity Management, Identity Protection, Azure MFA, and role-based access control. 
•    Understanding of Microsoft security concepts, cloud security architecture, and industry best practices.

Preferred:

•    Experience with Microsoft Intune, including device compliance, configuration profiles, endpoint security policies, and integration with Conditional Access.
•    Experience with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, including onboarding, policy configuration, vulnerability management, and incident response workflows.
•    Experience with Microsoft Purview, including data protection, information protection, retention, DLP, and compliance-related workloads.
•    Experience with Kubernetes security concepts, preferably including Azure Kubernetes Service, container security, identity integration, network security, and runtime protection.

Required:

•    Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500)
•    Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC-100)

Preferred:

•    Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)
•    Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate (SC-200)

•    Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700)
•    Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400)
•    Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
•    Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS)
•    CISSP, CCSP, or equivalent senior-level security certification
