What is a Microsoft Remote job?

A Microsoft Remote job is a position at Microsoft that allows employees to work from a location outside of a traditional office setting, such as from home or another remote location. These jobs span various roles, including engineering, customer support, sales, and project management. Remote employees at Microsoft use collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams and Office 365 to stay connected with colleagues. Depending on the role, remote work may be fully or partially remote. Microsoft supports flexible work arrangements to enhance productivity and work-life balance.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Microsoft Remote position, and why are they important?

To succeed in a Microsoft Remote position, candidates typically need strong technical proficiency in Microsoft products, cloud technologies, and remote collaboration tools, along with relevant experience or certifications such as Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or Microsoft 365 certifications. Comfort with virtual environments, troubleshooting skills, and familiarity with platforms like Microsoft Teams, Azure, and SharePoint are essential. Excellent communication, self-motivation, and time management are important soft skills for navigating remote work and collaborating with dispersed teams. These capacities are vital for maintaining productivity, providing effective support, and ensuring seamless coordination in a fully remote Microsoft-based environment.

What does a typical day look like for someone in a Microsoft Remote position?

A typical day for someone working in a Microsoft Remote role often includes collaborating virtually with team members, attending meetings via Microsoft Teams, and managing tasks through cloud-based applications like SharePoint and OneDrive. You might be troubleshooting software issues, providing customer or technical support, or working on projects that require cross-functional coordination. Communication is typically handled through email, instant messaging, and video calls, making it important to stay organized and proactive. Remote employees also have to be adaptable to shifting priorities and occasionally participate in virtual training or upskilling sessions. The remote environment offers flexibility, but success depends on strong self-management and the ability to stay engaged with distributed colleagues.

Futures start here. Where first steps, new friendships, and confident learners are born. At KinderCare Learning Companies, the first and only early childhood education provider recognized with the Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award, we offer a variety of early education and child care options for families. Whether it's KinderCare Learning Centers, Champions, or Creme de la Creme, we build confidence for kids, families, and the future we share. And we want you to join us in shaping it-in neighborhoods, at work, and in schools nationwide.

At KinderCare Learning Companies, you'll use your skills and expertise to support the work (and fun) that happens in our sites and centers every day. From marketers and strategists to financial analysts and data engineers, and so much more, we're all passionate about crafting a world where children, families, and organizations can thrive.

As a Senior Power BI Developer / Microsoft Fabric Administrator, you'll own the design, delivery, and administration of our business intelligence platform. In this role, you will build high-impact Power BI dashboards and reports that enable corporate and senior leaders to make data-driven decisions.

You will work across the full BI lifecycle, partnering with collaborators to turn business questions into analytical solutions. You will develop scalable data models, craft intuitive visualizations, and administer the Microsoft Fabric/Power BI environment to ensure performance, governance, and reliability.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver modern, high-performing Power BI dashboards and reports for business and executive stakeholders.
  • Develop robust semantic models using star schema design, DAX, and Power Query.
  • Administer Microsoft Fabric / Power BI, including workspaces, capacities, gateways, and data refresh schedules.
  • Implement and maintain data governance and security, including RLS and permissions.
  • Monitor report performance and platform health, troubleshooting issues and optimizing reliability.
  • Collaborate alongside key stakeholders to gather requirements, prototype solutions, and drive BI adoption.
Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of Power BI development experience in a production environment.
  • Strong expertise in DAX, data modeling, coupled with experience in M scripting within Power Query.
  • Experience administering Microsoft Fabric or Power BI environments (workspaces, gateways, capacities).
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing and semantic modeling (star schema).
  • Experience with a cloud data platform such as Fabric, Azure SQL/Synapse, Databricks, or Snowflake.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to translate business needs into analytical insights.
