Job description

SAIC is seeking a Field Support Engineer with ourIndicium Product Office to represent and operate Network, System Integration and Test Environment (NSITE) software in Huntsville, AL. Support typically involves Missile Defense Agency test execution activities (Flight Tests, Ground Tests and Wargames/Exercises). The candidate should also have the ability to perform hardware integration and maintenance, have a basic understanding of computer networking, and a general understanding of computer hardware troubleshooting. The candidate will also be responsible for conducting validating configuration management documentation in support of information assurance certification and accreditation activities. The candidate should be a self-starter and be able operate with minimal supervision. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate NSITE software based on event support requirements
  • Support NSITE software field testing and reporting
  • Coordinate and interact with site personnel to perform hardware integration 
  • Maintain configuration management documentation (Microsoft Visio) and verify system configurations
  • Identify system engineering requirements from customers for event specific NSITE recording or mission viewing

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology (or related degree) and two (2) or more years of experience; Additional six (6) years' experience can be considered in lieu of degree (per contract vehicle)

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must possess an active Secret security clearance; US Citizenship required

Required Skills:

  • Security+ or CISSP Certification  
  • Available to travel CONUS or OCONUS for Event support (25% per year)
  • Microsoft OS Certification (or FedVTE/Gov Microsoft OS Certificate)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills and reporting practices
  • Basic Information Technology (IT) principles and troubleshooting experience
  • Experience with Internet Protocol (IP) networks, network troubleshooting and Cisco network equipment
  • Strong Windows 10/11 OS configuration experience
  • Strong Microsoft Office and Visio skills

Preferred (not required) Skills:

  • Current Network+ or similar Network Certifications
  • Understanding of Network, System Integration and Test Environment (NSITE) software
  • UHF Tactical Radio operation experience
  • Functional understanding of tactical interoperability equipment to include Air Defense Systems Integrator (ADSI), Link Monitoring and Management Tool (LMMT), Joint Range Extension (JRE) or like systems
