Job description

Overview
Microsoft Advertising is building the systems that help sales teams, business leaders, finance partners, and product teams understand performance, manage monetization, and operate the business with confidence. Within Microsoft AI Monetization, we are hiring two Principal Product Managers to lead distinct but connected areas of the advertising business: Data & Reporting and Billing & Monetization Platform.
The Data & Reporting role will own the reporting foundation across Search, Display and Video, and Acquisitions. Sales teams and leaders rely on reporting to run the business, but today the portfolio is supported through a mix of systems and part-time ownership. This role will bring dedicated product leadership to create a more unified, reliable view of performance, reduce time spent reconciling data, and help leaders identify risks and opportunities faster.
The Billing & Monetization Platform role will own the end-to-end monetization flow across Ads, Xandr, and Gaming - from campaign delivery to usage, billing, invoicing, payment, and revenue recognition. This role will drive modernization of the core billing platform, support the MAP migration, ensure revenue accuracy and compliance, and lead critical cutover work for Xandr and Gaming while keeping the business audit-ready.
Both roles require strong product judgment, deep cross-functional leadership, comfort operating in complex systems, and the ability to turn ambiguity into durable product strategy. These are high-impact ownership roles for product leaders who want to shape the infrastructure, data, and monetization capabilities that help Microsoft Advertising run and grow at scale.
Microsoft's mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.
Responsibilities
Shared across both roles:
  • Own product vision, strategy, and execution for a mission-critical product area within Microsoft Advertising Monetization.
  • Define multi-year product roadmaps that turn complex business needs into scalable systems, trusted data, and measurable business impact.
  • Partner deeply across Engineering, Finance, Sales, Data Science, Legal, and business stakeholders to align priorities, make tradeoffs, and deliver durable product outcomes.
  • Operate across ambiguous, high-stakes problem spaces where prioritization, sequencing, and product judgment have direct business consequences.
  • Define success metrics and drive measurable impact on decision quality, business operations, productivity, revenue integrity, and trust in the systems used to run the business.
  • Translate stakeholder needs into clear product requirements, platform capabilities, and execution plans that scale across Microsoft Advertising.

Data & Reporting focus:
  • Own the vision, strategy, and execution for reporting across Search, Display and Video, and Acquisitions, shaping how leaders and sales teams understand business performance.
  • Lead the transformation of reporting from fragmented and unstable systems into a dependable platform with consistent metrics, definitions, and a more unified view of performance.
  • Partner with sales leadership, engineering, and data science to translate how the business runs into durable reporting capabilities that improve visibility, productivity, and decision-making.
  • Bring strong data, reporting, business intelligence, or data engineering experience to improve trust in the numbers used to run the business.

Billing & Monetization Platform focus:
  • Own the end-to-end monetization platform across Ads, Xandr, and Gaming, including campaign delivery, usage, billing, invoicing, payment, and revenue recognition.
  • Drive modernization of the core billing platform, including the MAP migration and consolidation of Ads, Xandr, and Gaming onto the platform.
  • Own revenue integrity across invoice accuracy, credits, adjustments, reconciliation, SAP integration, revenue-recognition timing, chargebacks, SOX reconciliation, and forecasting accuracy.
  • Set product strategy for payments, fraud, invalid-traffic enforcement, payment discrepancy management, global tax, invoicing compliance, and audit readiness.
  • Partner across Engineering, Finance, Legal, and business stakeholders to build a billing and monetization system that scales with Microsoft Advertising.

  • 7+ years of product management experience, with demonstrated ownership of complex, cross-functional systems, platforms, or broad ambiguous product areas.
  • Experience with reporting, analytics, business intelligence, data engineering, data platforms, billing, payments, financial systems, or revenue infrastructure.
  • Strong data sense, including comfort with data quality, definitions, reconciliation, accuracy, and building trust in mission-critical business data.
  • Ability to translate the needs of sales teams, finance partners, legal stakeholders, business leaders, and engineering teams into clear product strategy and execution plans.
