POSITION SUMMARY
The Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM and Power Platform Engineer is responsible for the ongoing development, modernization, integration, and support of The Battery Network's CRM, Dataverse, Power Pages, Power Automate, and related Power Platform capabilities. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building useful, reliable, and scalable business solutions-not simply administering a system.
A major focus of this role is The Battery Network's customer-facing portal ecosystem built on Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Pages and Dataverse. The ideal candidate understands that these portals are an extension of the customer and partner experience and can design solutions that are secure, intuitive, integrated, and maintainable.
This role will also help the organization more fully realize the value of Dynamics 365 CRM by improving how customer, partner, service, program, and operational data are modeled, automated, surfaced, and connected across the business. The Engineer will work across CRM configuration, model-driven apps, Power Pages, Power Automate, Dataverse, reporting enablement, and custom development as business needs evolve.
Success in this role requires practical engineering execution, strong Power Platform and Dynamics 365 knowledge, comfort with APIs and integrations, and the ability to partner with business teams to turn complex operational problems into dependable production-ready solutions
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to the following:
  • Dynamics 365 CRM Engineering: Configure, customize, extend, and support Dynamics 365 CRM and Dataverse solutions, including tables, forms, views, business rules, security roles, model-driven apps, workflows, and related application components.
  • Dynamics 365 Extensibility Development: Design, build, deploy, and support custom Dynamics 365 functionality using C#/.NET plugins, custom workflow activities, JavaScript, PCF controls, web resources, and other platform extensibility mechanisms.
  • Power Pages / Portal Delivery: Design, build, enhance, and support customer-facing Power Pages portal capabilities that provide secure, reliable, and user-friendly digital experiences for customers, partners, and operational users.
  • Power Platform Solution Development: Develop and maintain Power Automate flows, Power Apps, Dataverse components, and reusable platform patterns that improve process automation, data quality, service delivery, and operational efficiency.
  • Business Central Integration: Support and extend the organization's Microsoft-supported Business Central and Dataverse/Dynamics integration patterns, helping ensure CRM, portal, and ERP data stay aligned across business workflows.
  • API & Integration Engineering: Design, troubleshoot, and support API-driven integrations between Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Business Central, Azure services, external systems, and internal applications to solve complex business problems.
  • CRM Platform Growth: Identify opportunities to expand the practical use of CRM across customer service, account management, program operations, reporting, marketing, compliance, and other organizational workflows.
  • Application Lifecycle Management: Support clear solution management, environment promotion, deployment practices, documentation, testing, and governance for Dynamics 365 and Power Platform solutions.
  • Technical Delivery & Support: Troubleshoot defects, monitor system behavior, support production operations, resolve issues, improve system performance, and participate in practical design and implementation decisions.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Documentation: Work with business leaders, product owners, operations teams, Technology Services, and external partners to clarify requirements, explain trade-offs, document decisions, and deliver supportable solutions.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
  • Three plus years of hands-on experience developing, configuring, deploying, and supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM, Dataverse, Power Platform, Power Automate, and Power Pages solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, plus 3+ years of relevant Dynamics 365 CRM and Power Platform experience; OR 6+ years of equivalent hands-on platform engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated experience building or supporting customer-facing portals, self-service experiences, or external-facing business applications using Power Pages, Dataverse, custom components, APIs, or related Microsoft technologies.
  • Experience designing and supporting integrations between CRM, portals, ERP systems, APIs, data sources, and operational workflows, with a practical understanding of data quality, security, and maintainability.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience extending Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM through C#/.NET plugins, custom workflow activities, integrations, and platform extensibility.
  • Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States for The Battery Network, with or without sponsorship.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong experience with Power Pages / Power Apps portals, including page configuration, web roles, table permissions, forms, lists, Liquid templates, JavaScript, CSS, and portal security patterns.
  • Hands-on Dynamics 365 CRM and Dataverse experience, including entity/table design, model-driven apps, forms, views, business rules, workflows, security roles, teams, and field-level security.
  • Experience with Microsoft Business Central integration, Dataverse integration, or Microsoft's out-of-box integration patterns between Dynamics 365 applications and ERP data.
  • Experience designing, consuming, troubleshooting, or supporting REST APIs, OData endpoints, web services, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, or other integration services.
  • Experience with Power Platform ALM, solution segmentation, managed/unmanaged solution strategy, environment promotion, deployment pipelines, Power Platform CLI/PAC, Plugin Registration Tool, XrmToolBox, Azure DevOps, or GitHub.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & EXPERIENCE
  • Ability to translate ambiguous business needs into practical CRM, portal, automation, data, and integration solutions that can be delivered, supported, and improved over time.
  • Strong understanding of customer experience, portal usability, role-based access, data privacy, system reliability, and supportability in external-facing business applications.
  • Comfort working as a hands-on engineer in a small, collaborative technology team where priorities evolve and ownership matters.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, explain trade-offs, document decisions, and keep delivery moving through practical problem solving.
  • Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated commitment to documentation, transparency, follow-through, testing, and continuous improvement.
  • Self-starter with intellectual curiosity, a continuous learning mindset, and the ability to thrive in a mission-driven organization.
  • Collaborative, low-ego team member who balances urgency, patience, adaptability, and long-term solution quality.

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • This position is remote based within the United States. Candidates must be able to work from a U.S.-based location and be eligible to work lawfully in the United States for The Battery Network.
  • Limited travel (estimated 3-5 times per year) as needed. Travel could include, but not be limited to, attending conferences, customer meetings, or team/organization-wide meetings.
  • Standard work hours are Monday-Friday, 8 hours per day. Some roles may require additional hours during peak periods. We prioritize the quality and timeliness of work over rigid schedules and recognize the importance of connection, collaboration, and work-life balance. To support this, we offer flexible scheduling where roles allow, and in alignment with current policy, while ensuring operational needs and team collaboration are met.
