Job description

The Humane Society of Missouri is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our Accounting and Finance team as an Accountant. This full-time position offers the opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of our organization while supporting our mission to promote the welfare of animals in need.
Responsibilities:
  • Process accounts payable invoices accurately and timely
  • Match purchase orders, receipts, and invoices for approval and payment
  • Manage vendor records and maintain accurate account information
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Process and monitor payments through the RAMP payment system
  • Enter and maintain financial transactions in Microsoft Solomon
  • Assist with monthly closing activities and account reconciliations
  • Prepare reports and documentation for audits and financial review
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and accounting procedures
  • Communicate professionally with vendors and internal departments
  • Support additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of accounts payable or general accounting experience recommended
  • New graduates with internship experience will be considered
  • Experience using Microsoft Solomon
  • Experience with RAMP expense/payment management platform
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
