Micro Influencer information

What is a micro influencer?

A Micro Influencer job involves promoting brands, products, or services to a small but highly engaged online audience, typically ranging from 1,000 to 100,000 followers. Micro Influencers create content on social media platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, partnering with brands to generate awareness and drive engagement. They focus on niche markets and build strong relationships with their followers, which makes their recommendations more authentic and effective. Companies value Micro Influencers for their ability to connect with audiences in a relatable and personal way.

What are some typical daily responsibilities for a micro influencer?

Micro Influencers typically spend their days brainstorming and creating engaging content, posting to social media, and interacting with their followers through comments, direct messages, or live streams. They may also research brands, negotiate partnerships, track campaign performance using analytics, and keep up with current trends to ensure their content remains relevant. Collaborating with other creators or attending industry events can also be part of the job. Balancing creativity, communication, and administrative tasks is key to maintaining a consistent presence and building a loyal audience.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the micro influencer position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Micro Influencer, you need strong content creation abilities, an authentic personal brand, and a deep understanding of your target audience on social media platforms. Familiarity with analytics tools like Instagram Insights, TikTok Analytics, and content scheduling applications is often important, though formal certifications are not required. Creativity, consistency, effective communication, and the ability to engage and build trust with followers are key soft skills. These skills and qualities are vital for growing your audience, collaborating with brands, and sustaining influence in a highly competitive digital space.

Job description

Description
We're hiring an innovative social media coordinator to help us build brand awareness and elevate our online presence. As a member of the digital marketing team, you'll assist the social media manager in developing a multi-channel social media strategy, create dynamic branded content for our social media platforms, identify key digital media opportunities, engage with influencers, and report analytics on web traffic and engagement.
The ideal candidate harnesses their creativity to heighten visibility, makes data-driven decisions to optimize our social media channels, and believes in collaboration to achieve the best results. If you're ready to dive in, apply today!
We're an independently owned fitness company with 10 locations, and we have members across the Central Coast, Central Valley, and Northern California - and we're about to take our social media local in a way no chain competitor can match. We have the playbook. We need the person who can move our vision forward.
You won't be inheriting a dead account and a "post 3x a week" mandate. You'll be launching per-club Instagram and Facebook accounts across our markets, training a social lead inside every club, and building a member-powered content engine - real trainers, real members, real towns. You'll report directly to ownership, and your wins will be visible in follower counts, tagged posts, and members who tell us they joined because of something you made.
Responsibilities
• Own our brand hub accounts and launch/oversee per-club accounts across 11 locations
• Shoot and edit short-form video (Reels first) - in clubs, with staff and members, weekly
• Train and coach a designated social lead at each club on our content calendar and guardrails
• Run our member activation programs: giveaways, club hashtags, photo spots, member spotlights, and micro-influencer partnerships with our own members
• Manage community: comments, DMs, and reviews answered within 24 hours
Report weekly on followers, engagement, UGC volume, and social-attributed joins - and adjust what isn't working
Qualifications
• 2+ years running social for a brand (multi-location, retail, hospitality, or fitness a plus)
• Proven short-form video chops - show us Reels/TikToks you made that performed, not just accounts you "managed"
• Comfortable on camera and even more comfortable getting shy staff and members on camera
• Organized enough to keep 11 clubs on a posting rhythm; scrappy enough to shoot on a phone
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to clubs from Atwater to Atascadero (mileage reimbursed)
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a strong plus
