Archbishop Edward A. McCarthy High School a co-ed Archdiocese of Miami Catholic school located in Southwest Ranches, Florida (Broward County) is looking to hire one male and one female Dean of Students for the 2026-2027 school year. This administrator will provide leadership and supervision for the Office of Student Affairs and the student body as a whole at the high school level. Salary will vary based on degree/certification and years of experience. All duties must be performed in alignment with the mission, vision, and tenets of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Salary will be based on certification and years of experience.
Essential Job Duties:
  • Administers disciplinary procedures in accordance to the vision and mission of the school.
  • Administers disciplinary procedures in accordance to the Parent-Student Handbook and the Archdiocese of Miami's policies/procedures.
  • Supervises and monitors students on campus during/after school; off campus school student events (Homecoming Dance, Prom, Grad Bash, etc.).
  • Maintains an open line of communication with the students and parents.
  • Supports staff to create and sustain classroom management systems.
  • Facilitates faculty and staff development in support of the school's disciplinary procedures and activities.
  • Oversees student attendance.
  • Inputs student disciplinary documentation in school Student Information System platform.
  • Works in conjunction with and reports directly to the Vice-Principal of Student Affairs.
Qualifications:
  • Required minimum: working towards a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership or related field.
  • Must provide at time of resume, a copy of the Florida Department of Education Certification.
  • Must be fully committed, supportive and respectful of the mission, teachings and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church.
  • Must obtain catechetical certification from the Archdiocese of Miami Office of Catechesis within three years of hire.
  • Knowledge and skill in the use of Student Information System platforms (e.g. PowerSchool).
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or similar forms is a plus.
  • Excellent presentation skills with use of technologies.
  • Excellent oral and written English language communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
  • Must have a professional demeanor, including the dress code.
