Athletic Trainer (Summer Camp) Youth Sports | Mets Baseball & Softball Camps $23/hour

Mets Baseball & Softball Camps is hiring a Seasonal Athletic Trainer to support our youth baseball and softball camps in Brooklyn, NY during Summer 2026.

This role combines hands-on injury prevention, and on-site medical care with leadership responsibilities in a fast-paced youth sports environment. The Athletic Trainer will serve as the primary health and safety lead at camp while also supporting daily operations alongside the Site Director.

About the Role

Mets Camps provides the equipment, training, and curriculum you bring the medical expertise, awareness, and leadership to ensure a safe and positive experience for all campers and staff.

This is an excellent opportunity for Athletic Trainers, Sports Medicine students, or healthcare professionals seeking practical field experience working with youth athletes in a dynamic setting.

Core Responsibilities

  • Serve as the on-site medical lead for camp operations
  • Provide first aid, injury assessment, and basic treatment for campers and staff
  • Manage and administer medications (including EpiPens and allergy care)
  • Conduct daily health checks and monitor camper well-being
  • Maintain detailed and accurate health and incident records
  • Communicate with parents and Mets Camps leadership regarding injuries or concerns
  • Ensure all safety protocols and risk management procedures are followed
  • Maintain and organize first aid supplies and medical equipment
  • Take a proactive approach to injury prevention and camper safety

Additional Leadership Responsibilities

  • Support the Site Director with daily camp operations
  • Assist with staff coordination and camper supervision
  • Help create a positive, structured, and safe camp environment
  • Contribute to administrative reporting (attendance, incident reports, etc.)
  • Collaborate with coaching staff to ensure camper safety and engagement

Ideal Candidate

  • BLS certified (required)
  • EMT certification preferred but not required
  • Experience working with youth athletes (ages 413 preferred)
  • Background in sports medicine, kinesiology, athletic training, or healthcare
  • Ability to remain calm and responsive in fast-paced environments

Schedule & Locations

  • 5-week commitment (July 6-31 & August 17-21, 2026)
  • MondayFriday | Approximately 8 hours per day
  • Reliable transportation is required to get to Brooklyn, NY
