Want to get your foot in the door of the sports media world and work with one of the most iconic sports brands out there? The New York Post's Sports Social Media team is on the hunt for an enthusiastic and creative Sports Social Media Intern (24 hours a week) to help engage our massive sports audience, spotlight viral content, and keep the Post's sports coverage front and center!
If you live and breathe sports, have a knack for social media, and want to be part of the action this summer, we want you on our team! You'll work with some of the most passionate and experienced sports editors and social media managers in the industry. This is a real chance to make an impact-help grow our already massive audience, engage with die-hard fans, and contribute to content that gets people talking.

Note: This internship is scheduled to run from September 14, 2026 - November 20, 2026. Open to current juniors and seniors pursuing a BA, MA students, and recent graduates who completed their degree within the past year.

Note: This position requires in-office attendance at our Midtown Manhattan office.


What You'll Do:

  • Engage with readers across social platforms to amplify our sports coverage and build excitement around major events.

  • Curate and share viral sports content to keep our social feeds buzzing.

  • Help manage the New York Post's sports social media accounts, making sure we stay ahead of trends and always bring our audience the latest and greatest in sports.

  • Collaborate with the sports editorial team to highlight breaking news, game highlights, and fan-favorite content.

  • Monitor social media performance, learn how to boost engagement, and help grow our sports audience.

What We're Looking For:

  • A sports enthusiast with a strong passion for the game (or games) you love and the world of sports journalism.

  • Previous social media experience is a plus, but a love for social engagement and a knack for storytelling is key!

  • A creative thinker who knows what it takes to craft attention-grabbing posts that get fans talking.

  • Knowledge of current sports news, stats, and trends-and the ability to make them come alive in a social media feed.

  • A team player who thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

Base Pay Range: $20/hour - $20/hour

We're committed to offering competitive and flexible compensation to attract top talent. This pay range reflects our good faith estimate for the role and may vary based on a candidate's experience, skills, location, and other relevant factors.

For bonus-eligible roles, targets are determined based on multiple considerations, including market benchmarks and individual contributions.
