Core Responsibilities:
  • Perform various metallurgical testing methods and analyze results in accordance with regulatory and local/customer specifications.
  • Report and maintain test data according to local procedure.
  • Identify and report all nonconforming material to Lab Supervisor/Metallurgist.
  • Operate and maintain all lab testing equipment as required including band saws, surface grinders, mounting/polishing equipment, microscopes, etc.
  • Comply with all Safety rules and regulations.
  • Participate in Lab improvement and 5S activities.
  • Assist with training of new Lab Techs.
  • Perform additional duties that may be assigned by the Quality Manager/Lab Supervisor.

Job Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing or related field.
  • Experience in a Metallurgical Lab testing tubular products preferred, (Tensile, Impact, Hardness etc.).
  • Knowledge of material preparation process (CNC machining, grinding/ polishing etc.)
  • Knowledge of tubular and/ or steel manufacturing preferred.
  • Knowledge of API / ASTM/ TS/ ISO standards and specifications.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Adaptability (i.e., ability to work rotating shifts).
  • Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills.
  • SAP & general computer knowledge preferred (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Ability to work in fast paced organization, meeting multiple deadlines.
