Job description

Job Purpose
The Quality Inspector role involves day-to-day product and process audits that monitor production activities and generate performance data. This also includes collecting and maintaining build records and documentations while rotating through the facility to build broad product knowledge. Perform other functions or assist in other departments as needed.

Education / Training
• Prefer BS degree in Metallurgy, Material Science, or a related engineering or scientific discipline
• Seeking experience working in a production environment with machining, steelmaking, or technical area
Key Job Elements
• Require experience in metallurgical testing: sample prep, inspection, analysis, and reporting
• Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job without assistance
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Excellent computer skills: Excel, Power Point, Word, Teams, SharePoint
• Able to learn and utilize all aspects of Customer and Internal Software Programs; including but not limited to: Supplier Connect, LN, QDAS, IPREP, Coupa, PRS ETQ,
• Customer focused communication and professionalism
• Ability to manage multiple urgent priorities simultaneously
• Knowledge and Understanding of the Quality Management System (including items outlined above)
• Knowledge and Understanding of GD&T, Blue Prints, Specifications, Gauging and Measurements
• Effective cross functional coordination and facilitation
• Ability to work "hands-on" and walk across the facility multiple times each day as needed.
Qualifications and Experience
• Candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, 5S and housekeeping standards at all times
• Require experience in metallurgical testing: sample prep, inspection, analysis, and reporting
• Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job without assistance
The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met successfully to perform the essential functions of the job:
• Requires long periods of standing, reaching and using hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls;
• Requires frequent walking up and down floor to platforms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl inside the product as required;
• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds;
• Metatarsal safety shoes are required as well as safety glasses.
