Job description

The Brake Press Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining press brake machines to bend, form, and shape metal parts according to specifications. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to read blueprints, and a strong commitment to safety and quality standards.

Primary Functions & Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate press brake machines (CNC and/or manual)
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders
  • Select appropriate tooling, dies, and materials for each job
  • Measure and inspect finished parts to ensure accuracy and quality
  • Make machine adjustments to meet dimensional tolerances
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work area
  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production goals
  • Document production data and report issues or defects

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Previous experience operating a press brake or similar metal fabrication equipment
  • Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures)
  • Basic math skills and understanding of metal forming processes
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills


Preferred Skills 

  • CNC press brake experience
