Job description

Hohman Plating, a division of Novaria Group, is a leading service provider for plated coatings. We serve a diversified customer base including aerospace, medical, large equipment and more. In business since 1918, we are seeking long-term employees to join our team. Conveniently located one mile north of downtown Dayton. SUMMARY OF JOB
Training on 1st shift for approximately 60 days. 7am-3:30pm, Monday to Friday
3rd shift hours, 11pm to 7:30am, Sunday to Friday morning
Responsible for the plating process(es) of customers' metal parts. We train on the job for up to 90 days.

Functions
  • Reads and follows part plans for processing requirements
  • Counts and controls all parts before and after plating
  • Follows part plan work instructions for compliance to customer specifications
  • Selects holding rack according to size, shape and number of objects to be processed
  • Processes customer product in a defined series of cleaning, activating, plating and rinsing baths
  • Measures thickness and diameters for pre- and post- plate dimensions
  • Monitors tank temperatures, solution levels and rectifiers of plating bathes and records data
  • Dries and packs parts to prevent damage or as specified by part plan instructions
  • Operates computer terminal to view orders, start and complete individual work orders
  • Documents process and inspection data on part plan
  • Pre- and post- bake parts as required
  • Performs online inspections as required by work order to ensure conformance of product to customer specification
  • Strong attendance & Reliability
  • When a documented process does not produce parts as expected, stops production and informs Group or Line Leader

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to dangerous chemicals, including exposure to fumes or airborne particles below OSHA permissible limits. Frequently exposed to high heat and humid conditions. Employee will be frequently exposed to loud sounds, below the OSHA permissible limits.
