About the Role:
As a Metal Fabrication Foreman at VAN LOON INDUSTRIES INC, you will play a crucial role in overseeing daily operations and ensuring our team delivers top-notch manufacturing solutions. Join us in Shelby Township, MI, where innovation meets excellence in a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities:
Excellent opportunity for an experienced metal fabrication foreman to join an established precision metal fabrication company. The role is a working foreman to supervise and coordinate activities of skilled and semi-skilled employees engaged in the fabrication and assembly of sheet metal products. The foreman is responsible for providing direction and a positive work environment to foster high team performance. Responsibilities include working with management to ensure that assigned work conforms to quality, safety and productivity objectives. Work includes sheet metal press brake forming, laser cutting, TIG / MIG welding, and metal finishing.
Desired Skills & Experience Qualifications:
Minimum of at least two years of plant floor supervision experience plus a minimum of five years of working in the metal fabrication field.
Experience and thorough understanding of metal finishing fabrication like press brake forming, welding, laser cutting, metal finishing and shearing.
 Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, layout drawings and sketches or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating and possess strong mathematical aptitude and a strong working knowledge of tolerances
Other fabricating skills / knowledge are a plus.
High energy individual with proven experience leading teams of employees – proven ability to lead, direct, coach and discipline employees using positive methods
  • Demonstrated success in developing strong customer relationships and meeting or exceeding customer expectations
  • Position requires a solid knowledge of fabricating machines and tools including setup, adjustment and routine maintenance
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and strong attention to detail
  • Candidate must be available to work 55 hours, including Saturday hours, if needed
  • Possess ability to multi-task in a changing, fast-paced environment
  • Candidate must be authorized to work in the United States and possess a current Driver's License with no DUI or OWI.
  • Computer literacy in Word, Excel and Outlook is preferable
    Applicant must pass all pre-employment requirements including drug screening and physical examination, math test and must undergo reference and security checks based on requirements of the position
