The Position

The Sr Manager Data Enablement & Architecture plays a pivotal role in overseeing and driving the data strategy within the organization. This multifaceted strategic leader role encompasses four critical areas: Data Infrastructure, Data Systems, Data Enablement and Data Ownership.

Serving as a strategic data leader, this role directly manages a multidisciplinary team of Data Architects, Business Systems Analysts and Data Product Owners to design, implement and maintain robust, efficient data systems, processes and architecture to enable data to be utilized as a strategic asset.

To ensure seamless enterprise data integration, this role will partner closely with peer data managers within the Compensation and Data Excellence (CDE) department (Master Data Management and Data Science) to deliver scalable innovative solutions to stakeholders.

By working hand-in-hand with other strategic RDC leaders and Global IT (RDT), this manager will own, launch and drive the overarching data enablement strategy. This role will act as a critical bridge between business and technical teams by introducing robust data enablement and data ownership capabilities, ensuring data quality is managed across the enterprise.

The Opportunity

  • Strategic Leadership & IT Partnership: Partner with strategic business leaders and Global IT / RDT to translate business data requirements, co-create the data strategy, and establish an ongoing operating support model.
  • Team Oversight & Development: Manage, inspire, and mentor a technical team of Data Architects, Data Product Owners, and Business Systems Analysts. Oversee all aspects of the team's daily responsibilities, including setting priorities, managing workloads, coaching, and delivering value-added solutions.
  • Data Infrastructure & Architecture: Drive the support, and optimization of cloud data infrastructure (Snowflake), ensuring data systems and pipelines are optimized for speed, reliability, and seamless data ingestion, storage, and retrieval.
  • Data Enablement & Ownership: Actively lead the management of data products as business assets to ensure they are accurate, accessible, and delivering strategic business value. Champion data democratization by working with platform teams to integrate self-serve analytics capabilities, ensuring the right data reaches the right users.
  • Data Product Advocacy: Define and execute a data product roadmap that supports operational efficiency and customer insights, prioritizing features based on business impact and feasibility.
  • Governance, Compliance & Data Quality: Establish robust governance policies, enforce data SLAs (Service Level Agreements), manage data lineage, and orchestrate metadata management. Ensure all data products comply with relevant regulatory frameworks, including HIPAA, GDPR, and CPAA.
  • Culture & Change Agility: Build a data-centric culture that encourages experimentation, inclusion, recognition, and innovation. Lead the team with a high level of change agility to adapt quickly to evolving business needs.
  • Analytical Community: Consult and build strong collaborative relationships with analytical stakeholders and peers that includes timely feedback and communication to gain alignment and development of best practices.
  • Enterprise Mindset & Value Creation: Adopt a broad organizational perspective by aligning individual efforts with enterprise-wide objectives, ensuring a relentless focus on delivering outcomes that maximize strategic business value.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor degree
  • 8+ years of work experience in data with at least 5 years of direct leadership experience or equivalent project leadership

Preferred Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data product management, data governance, or data engineering.
  • In-depth knowledge of data architecture, ETL processes, and database technologies, including Snowflake, Alteryx, and MS SQL Server.
  • Strong understanding of data mesh principles, data lakes, and enterprise data management.
  • Proven track record of collaborating with executive leadership and delivering enterprise-wide solutions while partnering with a global IT organization.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively translate business needs into technical requirements and articulate data value across all levels of the organization.

Relocation benefits are not available for this position.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Indiana is$142,100 to $263,900. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
