Job Description:
The Black Gospel Archive (BGA) Student Assistant supports the mission of Baylor University, Baylor Libraries, and the Baylor School of Music by providing administrative, visitor services, and project support for the Black Gospel Archive. Working closely with the Archive's director and staff, the student assistant serves as a welcoming point of contact for visitors, assists with daily operations, and helps prepare the Archive for classes, events, and research activities.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain a professional and welcoming presence at the front desk of the Black Gospel Archive
Greet visitors, answer questions, and provide basic orientation to the archive's collections and spaces
Assist in preparing the Archive for classes, events, meetings, and other scheduled activities
Support staff in the Riley Digitization Center (RDC) with digitization, metadata creation, and inventory tasks related to the Black Gospel Music Preservation Project
Assist with the organization, maintenance, and stewardship of archival materials and related resources
Complete additional duties and special projects as assigned
