Job description

The Sourcing Manager for PCB & Board Components will act as the primary commercial contact for printed circuit board (PCB) and strategic board-level component sourcing within Meta's infrastructure supply base, while developing new sources of supply as required. This is primarily a commercial sourcing role that requires technical domain knowledge in PCB technology, including PCB raw materials (laminates, copper foil, prepreg, specialty chemicals), manufacturing processes, and global supply chains. Sourcing activities include identification of product and service availability and options, developing and leading negotiation and sourcing strategies, partnering with Meta engineering and ODM teams to influence component selection and board design decisions, and driving strategic sourcing decisions on a global basis. The Sourcing Manager will also own strategic board-level component sourcing as a core responsibility, covering categories such as power delivery, capacitors, inductors/magnetics, clock generation & distribution, and programmable logic. The role will drive strategic vendor engagements across these categories to ensure supply continuity, cost optimization, and technology alignment with Meta's infrastructure roadmap. Working closely with Engineering Teams and ODM partners, the Sourcing Manager leads the commercial engagement, prototype sourcing and development in support of new product development and introduction, and deployment of selected solutions and technologies. They own supplier management with particular emphasis in areas such as sourcing for advanced PCB technologies (dual-laminate constructions, HDI, low-loss dielectrics, embedded passives/actives, new material development, and advanced materials to support high-speed, high-bandwidth AI applications), contracts, negotiation, joint development models, IP and licensing, and the development of global commodity and supply chain strategies that enable Meta to meet time-to-development/time-to-production goals while managing the total landed cost.
Responsibilities
Provide industry knowledge and understanding of PCB market trends (cost drivers, technology evolution, supply chain design, capacity dynamics, and raw material availability) with specific expertise in advanced materials for AI/ML workloads
• Lead cross-functional collaboration on RFI, RFQ, and RFP processes and drive vendor selection and award decisions
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for PCB and strategic board-level components, including raw material supply chain strategies for laminates, copper foil, and specialty substrates optimized for high-speed, high-bandwidth AI infrastructure
• Vendor management including scorecards, business reviews, and tactical and strategic relationship management with PCB fabricators, raw material suppliers, and board-level component manufacturers
• Actively collaborate with ODM partners and Meta engineering teams to influence component selection and PCB design decisions, ensuring optimal cost, quality, and supply outcomes
• Identify and develop future growth sourcing areas for strategic board-level components including power delivery (VRs, dual-phase & quad-phase power blocks, UBC, VPD, LPD, future architectures), capacitors, inductors/magnetics, MMC/bridge ICs/module BMCs, clock generation & distribution, and CPLDs
• Perform sourcing due diligence including spend segmentation, supply market analysis, supplier capability assessment, supplier recruitment, and technology roadmap alignment
• Drive cost reduction opportunities through should-cost modeling, supply base optimization, design-for-cost initiatives, and total cost of ownership improvement
• Develop negotiation strategies to deliver against business objectives and achieve sustainable relationships with strategic suppliers
• Draft, negotiate, and implement supplier agreements and contracts by working with cross-functional stakeholders and suppliers
• Conduct risk assessment and mitigation strategies for PCB supply chain, including raw material supply assurance and geopolitical risk management
• Define and set strategic direction for PCB sourcing decisions aligned with Meta's infrastructure technology roadmap, with a focus on enabling next-generation AI hardware platforms
• Influence PCB material and technology selection through engagement with laminate suppliers, fabricators, and Meta's hardware engineering teams
Minimum Qualifications
• BA/BS or equivalent in Engineering (Electrical, Materials Science, Chemical, Mechanical), Supply Chain, or Business-related field with at least 15 years of relevant experience
• 15+ years of Sourcing Management or Supply Chain Management experience in commercial sourcing roles with direct PCB and/or electronic component categories
• Expert technical understanding of PCB manufacturing processes, materials, and technology trends including dual-laminate constructions, HDI, low-loss dielectrics, embedded passives/actives, and advanced substrate technologies
• Proven experience with PCB raw material supply chains (laminates, copper foil, prepreg) and a thorough understanding of upstream material suppliers, market dynamics, and capacity planning
• Demonstrated results of improving supply chain and supplier performance, including the use of cost models and objective-based performance measures
• Experience working with ODMs and contract manufacturers in the electronics/server hardware industry
• Proven track record of developing and executing multi-year commodity strategies at scale
• Demonstrated executive presence with experience working and influencing at the leadership level
• Experience driving cross-functional alignment across engineering, supply chain, and commercial functions
Preferred Qualifications
• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
• Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
• Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
• MS or MBA
• Experience with data center or hyperscale infrastructure hardware sourcing at scale
• Knowledge of board-level component categories (power delivery, passives, magnetics, clock/timing, programmable logic) and their supply chains
• Experience with new material development and qualification for high-speed, high-bandwidth applications (e.g., 112G/224G signaling)
• Experience with supplier development in Asia-Pacific PCB manufacturing regions
• Familiarity with industry standards (IPC, UL) and PCB qualification processes
• Experience driving design-for-cost and design-for-supply initiatives with engineering teams
• Experience with advanced PCB technologies for AI/ML accelerators, high-speed networking, or server applications
• Knowledge of emerging PCB technologies including glass core substrates, embedded component architectures, and ultra-low-loss material systems
