Job description

Job title: Project Manager – Mergers & Acquisitions | SAP Carve-Outs, SLO/SLT
Location: Santa Clara, CA 95051
Job Type: Contract
Experience: 8–10+ Years

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) with strong expertise in SAP Carve-Outs, SLO/SLT, business systems integration, and cross-functional transformation initiatives. The successful candidate will lead integration planning and execution across Legal, Human Resources (HR), and Finance workstreams for one or more concurrent acquisitions.
This role will serve as a key point of accountability for GBSx integration outcomes, partnering closely with functional VPs/Directors, Corporate Development (Corp Dev), Integration Management Office (IMO) leadership, and cross-functional workstream leads. The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating independently in complex M&A environments, resolving integration challenges, managing competing priorities, and driving Day 1 and hyper care readiness.
Key Responsibilities
  • Own the end-to-end integration strategy and execution across Legal, HR, and Finance workstreams for assigned acquisitions.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between functional workstream leads and Corp Dev IMO cross-functional leads, ensuring alignment on scope, timelines, dependencies, risks, and deliverables.
  • Lead M&A integration activities involving SAP carve-outs, SLO/SLT, business systems, data, and process integration.
  • Independently identify, assess, and resolve complex system, data, and process integration challenges.
  • Address integration areas such as:
    • Payroll and benefits harmonization
    • Contract migration
    • Entity and legal structure alignment
    • Finance and ERP integration
    • HR systems integration
    • Vendor and application rationalization
  • Own GBSx synergy tracking and vendor disposition strategies, including Continue, Consolidate, or Retire recommendations.
  • Provide business-case input and analysis to support vendor and technology disposition decisions.
  • Lead Day 1 readiness, cutover planning, and hypercare preparation for Legal, HR, and Finance systems.
  • Develop and execute risk mitigation strategies for critical integration activities.
  • Present workstream status, key risks, dependencies, decisions, and recommendations to DT IMO leadership and DTLT.
  • Partner with senior executives and functional leaders to resolve cross-functional conflicts and drive timely decisions.
  • Manage multiple concurrent acquisition workstreams while maintaining delivery against aggressive timelines.
  • Mentor and guide junior contractors or coordinators supporting GBSx-specific deliverables.
  • Document lessons learned and contribute to the development of reusable M&A integration playbooks, governance frameworks, and standards.
  • Establish and maintain project governance, status reporting, RAID logs, milestones, and executive-level communications.
Required Qualifications
  • 8–10+ years of overall professional experience, with at least 6 years of hands-on experience in M&A integration, business systems leadership, or HRIS/Finance systems implementation.
  • Proven experience independently owning complex integration workstreams from planning through execution.
  • Strong experience with M&A integration and SAP carve-out programs, including SLO/SLT exposure.
  • Deep working knowledge of at least two of the following:
    • HR/HRIS systems such as Workday
    • Finance/ERP systems, including SAP
    • Legal contract management systems
    • Entity management systems
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving HR, Finance, Legal, IT, and business stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work directly with VP- and Director-level stakeholders.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent, high-complexity workstreams under tight deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of Day 1 readiness, cutover planning, and post-close hypercare.
  • Excellent executive communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong proficiency in PowerPoint and executive-level status reporting.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience working within a Corporate Integration Management Office (IMO), Corporate Development, or M&A consulting organization.
  • Experience leading, rather than simply supporting, GBSx-related integration initiatives.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow ITSM/SPM.
  • Experience with technology and vendor rationalization frameworks.
  • Experience developing or improving M&A integration governance policies and processes.
  • Knowledge of synergy tracking, funding models, business cases, and vendor disposition strategies.
  • Experience developing reusable integration playbooks, governance artifacts, and standardized methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise transformation and technology modernization initiatives.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Top 3 Responsibilities
  1. Lead M&A integration: Own complex Legal, HR, and Finance integration workstreams, including SAP carve-outs, SLO/SLT activities, Day 1 readiness, and hypercare.
  2. Drive executive alignment: Partner with functional VPs/Directors and Corp Dev IMO leadership to manage scope, risks, dependencies, decisions, and integration outcomes.
  3. Drive governance and continuous improvement: Manage GBSx synergy tracking and vendor disposition while mentoring junior team members and contributing to reusable M&A integration playbooks and governance frameworks.
