Job description

Position Overview
The Restaurant Manager is responsible for overseeing all front-of-house operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and leading a high-performing service team. This role requires a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is passionate about hospitality, and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of service, presentation, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Service
  • Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction through personalized and attentive service
  • Maintain luxury hospitality standards consistent with an upscale dining environment and Marriott expectations
  • Handle guest concerns professionally and resolve service recovery situations promptly
  • Build relationships with repeat guests, VIPs, and hotel clientele
  • Monitor dining room ambiance, cleanliness, presentation, and overall guest flow

Restaurant Operations
  • Oversee all front-of-house operations including dining room, bar, lounge, private dining, and in-room dining coordination when applicable
  • Manage opening, closing, and shift procedures
  • Maintain operational standards, sanitation, and compliance with local health regulations and Marriott policies
  • Ensure proper staffing levels based on business demands, events, and occupancy
  • Collaborate with culinary and banquet teams to ensure seamless execution of service

Private Events & Restaurant Sales
  • Book, coordinate, and execute LAK's private dining events, cocktail hours, and gatherings
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for restaurant event inquiries and guest communication
  • Conduct site tours and assist guests with menu planning, beverage selections, and event logistics
  • Prepare event details, timelines, and communicate with the Restaurant Kitchen to execute
  • Be present during events to oversee service standards, guest satisfaction, and operational flow
  • Assist in driving restaurant revenue through private dining sales and promotional programming

Leadership & Team Development
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop restaurant staff including servers, bartenders, hosts, and supervisors
  • Conduct daily pre-shift meetings focused on service standards, menu knowledge, upselling, and guest engagement
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and hospitality excellence
  • Monitor employee performance and complete evaluations, counseling, and recognition initiatives
  • Lead by example on the floor during peak service periods

Financial & Administrative Responsibilities
  • Manage labor costs, scheduling, payroll, and departmental budgets
  • Drive revenue through strategic upselling, beverage programs, and guest engagement initiatives
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering and cost control.
  • Analyze financial reports including sales, labor percentages, and P&L performance
  • Support forecasting and operational planning with hotel leadership

Qualifications
  • Minimum 3-5 years of restaurant management experience in an upscale, luxury, or lifestyle hospitality environment
  • Experience coordinating private dining or special events preferred
  • Prior hotel food & beverage experience preferred
  • Experience with Marriott International systems and standards preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, sales, and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of wine, spirits, and fine dining service standards
  • Ability to manage high-volume operations while maintaining elevated guest experiences
  • Proficient in POS systems, Microsoft Office, scheduling, and inventory management software
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and event coverage

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended period
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
