Summary

The Senior Integrated Media Strategist is an experienced subject matter expert and media product owner responsible for a portfolio of clients that may include complex, high-visibility, or multi-line accounts. Building on the full scope of the Integrated Media Strategist role, the Senior Integrated Media Strategist owns the complete media planning process from research and strategy through tactical planning, in-market execution oversight, optimization, and measurement across all channels.

This role brings deeper strategic judgment, greater independence, and a demonstrated ability to develop and defend media recommendations with confidence. The Senior Integrated Media Strategist retains strategic and performance accountability across all channels — partnering with vendor partners for digital execution and the Media Investment team for offline media tactical development — and contributes to the development of junior team members through active mentorship and knowledge-sharing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Collaborate closely with Account Management in the development of the Media Brief for assigned clients, serving as a senior subject matter expert on audience, channel, and measurement inputs; contribute independent strategic point of view and elevate the quality of the briefing process through deep client knowledge and a nuanced understanding of how media strategy ladders to business outcomes.
  • Lead comprehensive audience and market research for assigned clients — including audience segmentation, competitive analysis, consumer journey mapping, and campaign performance analysis — producing insights that are analytically rigorous, clearly communicated, and directly actionable in the planning process.
  • Develop and document Measurement Strategies for assigned clients that reflect a sophisticated understanding of KPI frameworks, attribution approaches, and the relationship between media investment and business results across digital and offline channels; serve as a resource for less experienced team members navigating measurement questions.
  • Develop the Channel Strategy and full tactical plan for assigned clients with a high degree of independence — translating approved strategy into specific placements, unit mix, flighting, and budget by tactic across all media; partner with the Media Investment team on offline media tactical development while retaining full strategic ownership; bring a confident, well-substantiated point of view to all planning recommendations.
  • Oversee in-market performance across all channels for assigned clients — leading the partnership with external vendor activation partners on digital execution, and monitoring offline media delivery in coordination with the Media Investment team; set clear expectations for delivery and optimization; proactively bring forward-looking performance recommendations rather than simply reporting on outcomes; flag issues early and drive resolution.
  • Enter media orders into the agency's media buying and finance platform with full accountability for accuracy and completeness; own the creative specification, trafficking, and launch document for each campaign — ensuring all fields are precise, all cross-functional contributions are incorporated correctly, and the final document is ready for execution without requiring revision.
  • Hold shared accountability with Account Management for the quality, accuracy, and strategic strength of all media work product delivered to assigned clients; model a high standard of craft, proactively identify opportunities to improve the work, and serve as a quality resource for the broader team.
  • Mentor and provide day-to-day guidance to Associate and Strategist-level team members; support their development by sharing expertise, reviewing their work constructively, and helping them build both technical media knowledge and professional judgment.
  • Maintain accurate and timely time records in the agency's time tracking platform; actively engage with the agency's project management tool as a primary means of tracking tasks, managing workload, and collaborating across the account team — treating consistent use of both systems as a core professional responsibility; stay current on agency tools, research systems, and the evolving media landscape, and participate in agency training initiatives and team knowledge-sharing.

Qualifications - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • 3-5 years of experience in media planning, preferably with exposure to both traditional and digital channels. Publisher/vendor, or communications discipline (digital, content) may apply.
  • Strong command of media fundamentals including media math, reach/frequency, audience research, plan development, measurement strategy, and digital activation.
  • Proficiency in industry research tools.
  • Working knowledge of agency finance and project management platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex or multi-line client accounts independently.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; degree or concentration in advertising, marketing, or communications preferred.
