Pay: $65,000 – $70,000/year

We are seeking a compassionate, results-driven Memory Care Director to lead our specialized Memory Care Neighborhood and champion our Flourish Memory Care Program.

This role is ideal for a leader who combines clinical understanding of dementia care, programming excellence, and team leadership to deliver meaningful, person-centered experiences for residents and families.

Position Summary

The Memory Care Director is responsible for the day-to-day leadership, operations, and programming within the Memory Care Neighborhood. This includes staff development, regulatory compliance, life enrichment programming, and ensuring the successful execution of Charter’s Flourish Memory Care philosophy.

You will serve as the process owner and program leader, ensuring all six pillars of Flourish are implemented and sustained:

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead daily operations of the Memory Care Neighborhood

  • Develop, implement, and oversee life enrichment and therapeutic programming

  • Train, coach, and manage memory care staff and program assistants

  • Ensure compliance with state regulations and community policies

  • Partner with Health & Wellness Director on resident care and behavioral management

  • Support families with education, communication, and care planning

  • Drive resident engagement, quality of life, and individualized programming

  • Monitor program quality and ensure Flourish standards are consistently met

  • Collaborate with leadership to support occupancy and community growth

  • Handle complex dementia-related behaviors with professionalism and compassion

What We’re Looking For
  • 3–5+ years of experience working with seniors (required)

  • At least 1+ year of dementia/memory care experience (required)

  • Experience leading programming, staff training, and behavior management

  • Background in Recreation Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, Human Development, or related field (preferred)

  • Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to educate staff and families on Alzheimer’s and dementia care

  • Passion for person-centered care and life enrichment programming

Preferred Certifications
  • Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP)

  • Activities Director Certification

  • Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS)

  • Or related certification in memory care or life enrichment
