Job description

Position Overview: The Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Membership Account Manager to focus on recruiting new member investors and supporting our mission to enhance the business community. The ideal candidate will possess a "hunter" mentality, demonstrating a proactive approach to developing new business relationships with precision and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Account Management: Maximize event attendance and sponsorship opportunities
  • Recruit New Business: Identify and engage potential new member investors to drive membership growth.
  • Organized Prospect Management: Maintain organized prospect files of new members and those less than two years old.
  • Event Participation: Actively participate in events and programs to recruit and engage potential members, including Association Meetings, Mixers, and Special Events.
  • Member Support: Provide follow-up support to new members after joining and maintain a professional image in the community.
  • Communication: Inform appropriate staff of grand openings, ribbon cuttings and other member needs, ensuring timely communication and service.
  • Confidentiality: Uphold confidentiality with Chamber matters and sensitive information at all times.
  • Ethical Standards: Work with integrity and uphold the organizational values in all interactions.
  • Department Support: Assist the Vice President of Membership with essential assignments to enhance the Membership Department's success.
  • Presentation Skills: Develop and deliver polished, informative verbal presentations to potential members.
  • Additional Duties: Perform related duties as assigned to support the Chamber's objectives.

Education Requirements:

  • Minimum:
    • Proven sales track record
    • Associate Degree or
    • 3-5 years of B2B sales experience with a focus on new business development
  • Preferred:
    • Bachelor’s degree.

Previous Experience Requirements:

  • Strong Sales Skills: Ability to identify and engage potential members, with a proven track record of 3-5 years in B2B sales and emphasizing new business development.
  • Hunter" Mentality: Proactive in seeking new business opportunities, comfortable with cold outreach and a history of successful sales.
  • Community Engagement: Familiarity with the local business environment and a commitment to community involvement.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with GrowthZone or similar CRM systems, MS Office, and other tools for tracking sales activities and managing data for daily reporting and accountability.
  • Ability to produce a "Brag Book" and letters of recommendation.
