Member Services Representative II

Location: Yankton, SD

Full-Time | On-Site

As a Member Services Representative II, you will play an important role in serving members, supporting branch operations, and helping team members deliver consistent, high-quality service.

This position combines member service, account management, and operational support responsibilities. In addition to handling day-to-day transactions, you will open and maintain member accounts, assist with debit card services, mentor team members, and serve as a resource for operational and product-related questions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, service-driven, and committed to helping members achieve their financial goals.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver exceptional member service through in-person, phone, and other member interactions.
  • Process member transactions including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, cashier's checks, and money orders.
  • Open and close member accounts, including IRAs, business accounts, and share certificates.
  • Complete account maintenance requests, including address changes, stop payments, and other account updates.
  • Assist with debit card services, including card orders, dispute processing, fraud alerts, instant issue services, and inventory management.
  • Research and resolve member inquiries related to deposits, cleared checks, bill pay, debit cards, and other account services.
  • Set up automatic funds transfers and process approved fee refunds.
  • Mentor and train team members under the direction of management.
  • Assist with balancing discrepancies and support teller operations as needed.
  • Implement approved procedures and communicate with branch locations to maintain operational consistency.
  • Serve as a resource for product questions and develop reference materials when needed.
  • Exercise authorized override and teller reversal functions with appropriate approval.
  • Support drive-through operations and branch support functions, including coin machine maintenance.
  • Maintain compliance with Bank Secrecy Act requirements and identify potential suspicious activity.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the Member Experience team.

What You'll Bring

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3 years of teller, banking, credit union, or financial services experience preferred; willing to train the right candidate.
  • Experience with account opening, account maintenance, and member service preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent, verbal, written, and timely communication skills.
  • Professional appearance, attitude, and commitment to exceptional member service.
  • Strong math, cash handling, and keyboarding skills.
  • Ability to accurately manage and balance a cash drawer.
  • Basic accounting knowledge is beneficial.
  • Proficiency with computers, office equipment, and financial systems.
  • Ability to train and guide others while working collaboratively across teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
