Job Title: Member Services Representative / Teller

Location (City, State): Reston, VA

Assignment Type: Contract-to-Hire (Eligible for permanent hire after approximately 4 months)

Pay: $22.00/hour

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:30 AM–5:00 PM | 100% Onsite

Job Description:

The Member Services Representative/Teller serves as a key point of contact for members, providing exceptional service both in person and through phone-based support. This position assists with daily account transactions, new account openings, loan inquiries, and digital banking support while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a positive member experience. Representatives will split time between branch operations and contact center responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist members with account servicing, transactions, and general banking inquiries.
  • Open new accounts and explain available financial products and services.
  • Process teller transactions accurately while maintaining balancing standards.
  • Support members through phone, online, and digital communication channels.
  • Receive and route incoming calls while resolving member concerns efficiently.
  • Assist with consumer loan applications and provide product information.
  • Research account issues and coordinate with internal departments to provide timely resolutions.
  • Recommend additional financial products and services based on member needs.
  • Maintain accurate electronic records and required documentation.
  • Adhere to all company policies, security procedures, and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Perform additional administrative and operational duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in banking, credit union, retail, hospitality, customer service, call center, or another cash-handling environment.
  • Previous Teller or Member Services experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
  • Comfortable using a headset for extended telephone support.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform occasional local travel as needed.
