Job description

A travel pharmacist assignment is open starting May 5th for approximately 20 weeks, based in Silt, CO. This role involves working a rotating shift schedule totaling 40 hours per week, with start times at either 6:30 AM or 8:00 AM Monday through Friday, plus rotating weekend shifts from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The position will support a facility undergoing an EMR conversion from Meditech to Epic; therefore, candidates must have Epic experience, and Meditech training is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and dispense medication orders per physician requests, ensuring accurate transcription to computerized patient medication profiles.
  • Compound and dispense pharmaceuticals including IV admixtures, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition.
  • Monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications, interactions, and appropriateness of drug and dose; perform pharmacokinetic dosing as per protocol.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local regulations regarding controlled substances and medication management.
  • Provide clinical consultation and drug information to healthcare practitioners, patients, and families.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities, medication reviews, and staff education programs.
  • Serve as a member of the Code Response Team.
Qualifications:
  • Active Colorado Pharmacist License in good standing.
  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association).
  • Flu vaccination required from October 1 through April 1 (no exemptions).
