Location: Yuma, Colorado
Pay Rate: $44 to $48/hr
Contract: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 7 Nights On / 7 Nights Off, Wednesdayโ€“Tuesday
Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours/Week
Start Date: 06/08/2026

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Technician for a 13-week contract opportunity in Yuma, Colorado. This role requires strong laboratory testing skills, phlebotomy experience, and the ability to support night shift laboratory operations in a patient-focused hospital setting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory testing across assigned departments.

  • Coordinate testing procedures and clinical data with medical staff.

  • Perform phlebotomy, therapeutic phlebotomy, EKGs, and specimen collection.

  • Process routine, timed, and STAT testing while prioritizing workload.

  • Clarify physician orders and respond to questions about specimens and results.

  • Prepare and monitor quality control charts and instrument checks.

  • Perform equipment maintenance and basic troubleshooting.

  • Follow safety, infection control, chemical hygiene, compliance, and ethics policies.

  • Correlate lab results with diagnoses and question incompatible results.

  • Assist with orientation and training of new employees as needed.

Requirements

  • Current active state license required.

  • Certification or registration required through ASCP, AMT, NCA, HEW, or equivalent registry.

  • Minimum 2 years of MT/MLT experience required.

  • Phlebotomy experience required.

  • Cerner EMR experience preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of laboratory safety and quality control standards required.

  • Ability to perform arterial, capillary, and blood specimen collections required.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English required.

  • Computer skills required for communication and documentation.

  • Bilingual skills are a plus.

  • Holiday coverage required.

  • Potential on-call responsibilities may apply.
