Job description

Position: Medical Supply Support

Type: Full-time

Location: Fort Story, Virginia Beach, Virginia

Travel: 10%

**Contingent Upon Award**

Position Summary: The Medical Supply Support specialist assists with the management, tracking, and distribution of medical supplies for LOGSUPPU-2. This role ensures availability, accountability, and proper storage of medical materials, including pharmaceuticals and operational medical kits. The position supports mission readiness by maintaining accurate inventory records, facilitating procurement, and ensuring compliance with medical supply regulations and standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Medical Supply Manager in managing and tracking medical supplies
  • Monitor medications and supply levels for medics and Independent Duty Corpsman (IDC)
  • Build and maintain Authorized Medical Allowance List (AMAL) kits
  • Maintain files and generate reports for the Commanding Officer
  • Inventory, receive, and properly store medical materials
  • Function as a requestor for medical open purchase items
  • Maintain compliance with medical supply procedures and HIPAA requirements
  • Ensure proper accountability and documentation for medical inventory systems

Required Qualifications:

  • US Citizen
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
  • Must hold an active Secret Security Clearance
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience managing medical supplies or inventory systems
  • Experience with inventory systems such as Special Warfare Logistics Information System (SWALIS), Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS), Business Flow (BIZFLOW), Special Warfare Information Fast Tracker (SWIFT), or similar system
  • Experience managing a large inventory of pharmaceuticals and/or medical equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Must accurately input and manage data across systems
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain installation access
  • Must be compliant with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements

Physical Ability to:

  • Ability to lift and move supplies up to 85 pounds
  • Ability to stand, bend, and perform repetitive inventory tasks
  • Ability to work in warehouse and clinical supply environments
  • Ability to manage and organize large quantities of medical supplies

Physical Demands and Work Environment: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk, listen, and write. The employee frequently is required to use foot/ankle motions, hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to stand, walk, sit; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
