Job description

Job Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and physically capable Medical Supply Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for unboxing, stocking, and organizing medical supplies in the operating room. This role requires a hands-on approach to managing inventory, ensuring that expired supplies are purged, and maintaining a clean, efficient supply environment. The candidate must be able to lift and move medical supplies up to 50lbs repeatedly and work in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Unbox and organize incoming medical supplies, ensuring they are correctly stored in designated areas within the operating room.
  • Stock medical supplies and equipment in the appropriate locations, following safety guidelines and hospital protocols.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks to ensure stock levels are accurate and sufficient for operational needs.
  • Monitor and manage the expiration dates of supplies, regularly purging expired or outdated items from inventory.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory systems, including updating records and creating reports on stock usage and shortages.
  • Ensure all medical supplies are stored in compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.
  • Work closely with other team members and departments to maintain seamless supply operations.
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of storage areas.
  • Safely lift and transport supplies, including boxes weighing up to 50lbs, as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or medical supply role is preferred but not required.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50lbs) repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of medical supply inventory systems and processes is a plus.
