Job Overview:
This position will follow department policies and procedures, collect data for the verification and evaluation of providers applying for initial appointment and reappointment. Individuals in this role interact with applicants, liaisons, department chairs, and medical staff leaders. Through the work performed individuals in this position assist the department in complying with applicable accreditation standards. The individuals in this role are responsible for maintaining accurate and complete credentials files, maintaining credentialing database, identifying potential issues, and adverse information, independently investigating, and validating information. Also, the individual must be familiar with medical staff meeting management and minute taking. Always practices service excellence. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • CPCS certification required through National Association Medical Staff Services.
  • Minimum of 1-4 years of progressive experience in Medical Staff Services.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills and customer service skills required
  • MD-Staff credentialing software knowledge preferred.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, strong computer skills and customer service skills required
