Job description

Overview: Join a dedicated healthcare team as an Access Coordinator, ensuring smooth patient flow and efficient administrative support in a busy outpatient imaging department. This role is vital for maintaining accurate patient records, scheduling appointments, and managing billing processes with care and precision.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete new patient information packets, including consents, insurance forms, and clinical documents.
  • Verify and update patient demographic and insurance data in the system.
  • Schedule follow-up visits and procedures, determining appropriate providers and appointment lengths.
  • Accurately post charges and collect payments, maintaining and balancing the cash drawer.
  • Respond to basic billing and insurance inquiries and direct patients to the correct clinical areas.
  • Secure the office at the end of each shift and perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one year clerical experience; medical office or public contact experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients under stress.
