Medical Front Desk Receptionist / Scheduler
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Pay: $19-$20/hour
Job Summary:
A well-established non-profit organization in Philadelphia is seeking a Medical Front Desk Receptionist/Scheduler to join one of its locations. This role is responsible for managing provider schedules, coordinating patient appointments, and delivering exceptional, patient-centered service in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Answer and manage incoming calls in a professional and timely manner
  • Greet patients, register, check-in, and schedule appointments
  • Maintain and update patient records within the practice management system
  • Confirm and document accurate patient demographics and insurance information
  • Schedule Medical Assistant visits in accordance with organizational guidelines
  • Conduct appointment reminder and confirmation calls
  • Coordinate appointments with internal providers and external healthcare services
  • Assist patients with insurance verification and scheduling with Benefits Counselors
  • Collect patient fees in accordance with the sliding fee scale
  • Support front office operations, including mail distribution and visitor check-in
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold HIPAA standards
  • Ensure a welcoming, organized, and professional front desk environment
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Educate patients on Wellness Center policies and procedures
  • Assist with Primary Care Physician updates when needed
  • Support front desk leadership with scanning, package handling, and visitor logs
  • Monitor facility access and report any unusual activity
  • Cross-train and assist with dental front desk responsibilities as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Prior medical front desk, receptionist, or scheduling experience preferred
