Job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The Medical Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients, providing excellent customer service while managing front desk operations, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate patient records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls.
  • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
  • Register new patients and update existing patient information.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and collect co-pays and payments.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Manage medical records and ensure documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and other staff to ensure efficient patient flow.
  • Respond to patient inquiries and provide general information about office procedures.
  • Perform general administrative tasks, including filing, faxing, scanning, and data entry.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience as a medical receptionist, front desk receptionist, or customer service representative preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is an asset.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR/EMR) systems preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude.
