The University of Saint Mary is conveniently located a short 30 minutesโ€™ drive from Parkville, Shawnee, Basehor and Kansas City, Kansas. THE HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSITY OF SAINT MARY:


The University of Saint Mary is a Roman Catholic, liberal arts university located in Leavenworth, Kansas, just 25 minutes away from Kansas City. For over 100 years, the University of Saint Mary has helped students find their way to meaningful lives and careers through an education that blends the liberal arts and a focus on critical thinking with the development of key professional skills. USM serves about 1,400 students at its main campus in Leavenworth, its satellite location in Overland Park, as well as online.


POSITION SUMMARY:


Serve as an athletic trainer for fall, winter, spring, and off-season events for menโ€™s and womenโ€™s athletics. Will work under the direction of the Head Athletic Trainer helping to perform professional level athletic training duties involved with prevention, care, evaluation, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Attendance at practices and games for sports assignments.
  • Attend office hours for evaluations, treatments, and rehabilitation appointments.
  • Athletic training room duties will include but are not limited to:
    1. Daily cleaning & maintenance of the McGilley, Ryan, and Berkel Stadium athletic training rooms.
    2. Towel laundering for both McGilley and Ryan athletic training rooms as needed.
    3. Stocking and inventory of supplies in McGilley and Ryan athletic training rooms.
    4. Medical paperwork filing.
    5. Assisting with insurance paperwork/claims.
  • Travel is required for all conference games and some non-conference games.
  • Perform additional job related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • CPR/AED certified
  • Certified BOC Athletic Trainer
  • Graduate of a CAATE approved athletic training program
  • Masters in associated field preferred
  • Licensed or license eligible in the state of Kansas and Missouri
  • Affinity for the overall mission of the University of Saint Mary
  • Valid Driverโ€™s License
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability in the field of Athletic Training in the areas of taping, evaluation of injuries, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. 2-4 years of related experience.
