Job Summary

We are seeking a Clinical Operations Informatics Specialist to serve as the bridge between clinical staff, Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, and healthcare data analytics. This is a highly clinical-facing role focused on workflow optimization, EHR data validation, reporting, clinical informatics, and end-user support.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working directly with EHR systems, extracting and validating clinical data, documenting clinical workflows, and translating healthcare operational needs into actionable data insights.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Workflow Analysis & Documentation

  • Analyze and document current clinical workflows across healthcare facilities.
  • Identify workflow gaps and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Standardize EHR-related clinical processes and documentation.
  • Develop recommendations to improve efficiency and end-user experience.

Clinical Data Extraction & Analytics

  • Extract and analyze data from Electronic Health Record systems.
  • Create reports, dashboards, and visualizations supporting clinical and operational decisions.
  • Answer complex clinical questions using EHR data.
  • Ensure data accuracy through validation and reconciliation activities.

EHR Validation & Testing

  • Perform user-focused testing and validation of EHR enhancements and updates.
  • Validate EHR data against external data sources.
  • Conduct data triangulation within EHR systems to ensure integrity and accuracy.
  • Support system testing activities and quality assurance initiatives.

Clinical Support & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as a clinical informatics liaison for physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and healthcare leadership.
  • Communicate technical findings to non-technical clinical audiences.
  • Support end users with EHR-related questions and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Clinical Informatics or Healthcare IT experience.
  • 5+ years extracting and analyzing data from EHR systems.
  • 5+ years structuring unstructured clinical data and mapping to standard medical vocabularies.
  • 5+ years validating EHR data and conducting data quality assessments.
  • 5+ years documenting clinical workflows and EHR processes.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare data standards and interoperability.
  • Experience translating clinical requirements into data-driven solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills with medical staff and leadership teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Clinical background (RN, BSN, MD, DO, PA, NP, Pharmacist, Clinical Analyst, etc.).
  • Clinical Informatics experience.
  • Correctional healthcare experience.
  • Experience with healthcare operations and multidisciplinary care environments.
  • Experience with EHR platforms such as Epic, Cerner, Oracle Health, MEDITECH, NextGen, eClinicalWorks, Allscripts, etc.
