Job description

Imaging Assistant Duties:

Froedtert South is dedicated to exceptional patient care. Under the general guidance of the Radiologic Technologist, this position requires assisting the technical staff with direct and indirect patient care responsibilities involved in the performance of imaging studies.

  • Assists the Technical staff by escorting patients to and from exam rooms, patient positioning, exam room setup/cleanup, and patient monitoring
  • Assists with obtaining patient history, verify order/special scheduling requests.
  • Courteous and effective phone communications with provider offices/ancillary departments. Relays messages/instructions
  • Transports patients between imaging, nursing and ancillary departments.
  • Accurately documents information in the electronic health/medical record system.
  • Reviews patient’s history and documents appropriately on history/screening forms.
  • Receives and records verbal orders from licensed independent practitioners for orders that are specific to the services provided by their department.
  • Communicating exam information with patients/provider offices over the phone.
  • Multifaceted communication under a variety of emotional situations, for all patients throughout the life span.

Imaging Assistant Requirements:

  • Entry Level
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Ability to use oxygen equipment
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to read, write, speak, hear, and comprehend the English language.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) /CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or the ability to obtain certification within 6 weeks of hire.
  • Preferred but not required:
    • Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA)
    • Enrolled in a School of Medical Imaging/Radiologic Technology and in good academic standing.

Salary Range: $14.50 to $21.00/hr (based on experience)

  • Evening and night shift differential available
